LIMOGES JAM POT

Circa 1891-1914.  Large elegant Limoges jam pot. A wonderful example of fine French professional decoration on a graceful porcelain serving piece. The swirled soft white body shades to pink at the top. There is an elegant draped tendril in raised deep gold that goes from the finial, over the lid and down one side of the body. Radiating from the tendril are pink flowers and green leaves. The top of the finial and the edge of the lid and top of the jar are finished in brushed gold. The bottom edge of the base is outlined in gold as well. Fully marked with the Lanternier Marks 4 & 6.  Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate.  Fine original condition. 5 1/4" tall x 4" base diameter.   Price  $200.00
